For the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, we developed the Energy Portfolio Information Management System (EPMIS) software to comprehensively manage energy program portfolio data and calculate measure-level energy savings in accordance with the applicable Illinois Statewide Technical Reference Manual (TRM). In performing this task, we drew on our wide-ranging experience in the development of TRMs and software for various clients.
For each tracked measure, EPMIS calculated energy savings in accordance with specified methods, fully leveraging available site-specific and measure-specific information to determine the values of variables required for calculation of measure energy savings. For instance, project site zip codes were leveraged to ensure that applicable climate zones were referenced in calculation of energy savings of weather-sensitive measures. The EPMIS measure-level reporting fully detailed, for each project measure, all associated energy savings calculation variable types and variable values. This allowed for full transparency and reproducibility of energy savings calculations, helping to mitigate the risk of errors in ex ante energy saving calculation and to facilitate program evaluation.
Under this scope of work, we provided comprehensive support to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity with system implementation, customization, and ongoing support.
